How To Start Your Own Community Group or Faith Community Challenge

Set a challenge. Some ideas include rewarding the:

  • person who walks, runs, bikes the most miles in 30 days,
  • person averages the most fruits and veggies a day over 30 days,
  • team that averages the most physical activity,
  • team with the most active members, or
  • make up your own challenge.

You may track team and individual activity and fruit & veggie totals by setting up team(s). Whether you set up 1 or more teams depends on your challenge. For example, if you have a family challenge for the person who walks the most, you will want to set up 1 team and have all members of your family join the team. If you have a neighborhood challenge for the family who eats the most fruits & veggies, each family will want to set up their own team and compare themselves to the other family's teams. Don't worry, your weight and other personal health information will not be available to the anyone else. Follow the directions below to set up a team

  1. To create a new team, you must first complete your own registration. After you register, you may create a team, join or change teams at any time by selecting the "Team Info" link on the main menu.

  2. Give your colleagues/friends your team code (given to the team captain when they start the team).

  4. Compare your team's progress against other team's progress by clicking the "Compare Teams" under the "Team Info" menu.
