FAMILY COOKBOOK
Planning family meals will be a cinch when your favorites are collected in
this memorable cookbook. What a great way to showcase family food culture,
tradition and celebration!
Materials:
- Pictures of your family's favorite healthy foods
- Construction paper
- Glue or tape
- Colored pencils, pens or markers
- Hole punch
- Yarn or ribbon
- 2 pieces cardboard, optional
Process:
- Assign your child the "healthy food documentary" project. Let your child
take pictures of your family's favorite healthy foods as they are prepared,
served and eaten. Or, you take the pictures as your child prepares and
serves the food!
- On the top of each piece of paper (in the vertical position), have your
child tape or glue a picture of his family's favorite healthy food. Be sure
to have him leave enough space between the edge of the paper and the picture
for hole punching.
- Write the recipe on the paper below the pictures.
- Have your child punch three holes on the top of the papers.
- Let your child tie the papers together into a book using the yarn or
ribbon.
- For a sturdy cover, place one piece of cardboard on the front and one on
the back. Decorate with a family cookbook title and pictures!
