Now Serving Smoke-Free Air

A new law effective Saturday, Jan. 2, 2010 prohibits smoking in restaurants and bars across the state of North Carolina.
Under the new law, smoking will no longer be permitted in most restaurants, bars and lodging establishments that prepare and serve food and drink.
"This law is a great move toward creating a healthier state where residents can
patronize the business of their choice without fear of exposure to secondhand
smoke." said Dr. Wynn Mabry, Mecklenburg County Health Director.
