| A kickoff pep rally was thrown at Lake Wylie Elementary School for the Carolina Panther's FIT SQUAD, a community wellness campaign for teachers and students of Charlotte-Mecklenburg Schools. The campaign promotes increasing physical activity. It is one of many community programs that increase public awareness of the importance of healthy choices.

| Fit City for Fit Families was on hand at the fall family-movie series event hosted at Stumptown Park to teach families about being fit together. Young movie goers played with fitness dice, hula-hoops and skip-its for kids to earn shirts for being active. A family hula-hooping contest was hosted on stage before the movie started.
