Fit Together is a comprehensive statewide obesity prevention campaign funded by
the NC HWTF and Blue Cross Blue Shield of North Carolina. It emphasizes both
the individual and community actions needed to prevent/reduce obesity and
offers a practical resource families can use to prepare healthy meals, plan
activities and promote long-term ways to get fit and stay fit. You can access
information about local resources such as fitness programs, exercise facilities
and counseling on nutrition and healthcare at
www.FitTogetherNC.org. Fit Together's website has a section that
specifically addresses
workplace wellness.

Fit Community is a statewide program designed to recognize and reward North
Carolina municipalities and counties for actively promoting healthy lifestyles.
The grant award is public acknowledgement of a community's commitment to
improving overall livability and the quality of life for its residents. Fit
Community is part of Fit Together, the overweight/obesity prevention campaign
of the NC Health and Wellness Trust Fund (HWTF) and Blue Cross and Blue Shield
of North Carolina (BCBSNC). Technical assistance for grantees is provided by
Active Living by Design (ALbD). For more information about Fit Community,
please contact Cara Crisler at 919 843-3298 or visitwww.fittogethernc.org/FitCommunity.aspx.

The NC Health and Wellness Trust Fund was created by the General Assembly as
one of 3 entities to invest North Carolina's portion of the Tobacco Master
Settlement Agreement. HWTF receives one-fourth of the state's tobacco
settlement funds and invests in programs and partnerships to address access,
prevention, education and research that help all North Carolinians achieve
better health. For more information about the HWTF, visit
